Clients with copper or red hair asked me constantly how to maintain the vividness of their hair color. Well let me tel you maintaining your color vivid and fresh basically comes down to these 5 factors:

  • 1. base color

  • 2. hair quality

  • 3. hair care products

  • 4. hair care rituals

  • 5. color/pigment  quality

So lets dive a bit deeper into those 5 factors:

1. BASE COLOR

  • If you have just bleached your hair and it's the first time you use Copper or Red hair colors first use a permanent hair color that will push the pigments deeper into the hair shaft, and for maintenance I would recommend Copper Orange ColorConitioner + GO Orange ColorShampoo those two will prevent pigment fading.

  • In case your hair is damaged from bleaching do NOT use permanent oxidative hair dye's, your hair is open enough and could break after any additional oxidative treatment. Always use only toner or semi vivids like ColorConditoner on damaged hair, and I mean like ALWAYS, no if's and but's here!!

Always do a second semi vivids color application after the first wash. Pigments stick to pigments, stack those up!

2. HAIR QUALITY

    • Damaged hair is super open, meaning pigments will fly out like nothing. In this case you will need to use hair sealers like Keratin Drops or similar products. Closed hair means longer lasting colors. <3

    • Healthy hair will keep hold pigments longer resulting in a more gradual and even color fading.

3. HAIR CARE PRODUCTS

        • Deep treatment masks and oils are are a must, keep you hair from drying out, never skip on hydrating & nourishing it.

4. HAIR CARE RITUALS

            • Curling irons & straighteners should be used ONLY with heat protectant like Keratin Drops or similar...

            • Drying hair on room temperature is a big FUCK YES!

            • Protecting your hair form UV rays also a YES. Cover your hair in the summer.

            • Give your hare some love with nourishing oil or mask treatments!

5. COLOR/PIGMENT QUALITY

      • This one is quite self explanatory, low quality products will give low quality results. Don't go for cheep.
